1987-1989
In 1987, Maurizio Bertoli approached Joe McEown (a prominent chemist in the field of specialty cleaning and preservation agents) to collaborate in the creation of a line of specialty products for natural stone. After dedicating over a year to research and development, the duo's collaboration proved fruitful. Maurizio's extensive knowledge of rocks and minerals, coupled with Joe's unparalleled expertise in chemistry, resulted in creating this line of specialty products for end-users of natural stone that remains unmatched in quality and range. This gave birth to the original MB Stone Care Products line in 1989, which was made of five essential products that remain the foundation of the entire MB consumer product line to this day. These products are designed to cater to both professional cleaning and restoration contractors, as well as residential consumers of natural stone, thereby ensuring widespread applicability.
1995-2001
Maurizio initiated his stone restoration and maintenance classes from a cutting-edge facility in Folcroft, PA. During this endeavor, Mr. Bertoli formulated a polished powder for marble, namely MB-12, that revolutionized the industry. Following a few refinements, he began selling it to fellow stone restoration professionals, who were highly receptive to it. This product eventually formed the cornerstone of Maurizio's professional line, which included a remarkable polishing powder for granite (MB-16), and breakthrough products for polished stone floors maintenance and preservation, MB-8 and its counterpart MB-10. In 2001, Maurizio shifted his focus to developing specialty products for stone restoration contractors, with MB-12 being his debut offering. This proprietary product quickly gained recognition for being the most comprehensive and effective polishing powder for marble. Its unique ability to work on serpentinite and ophicalcite (green marble) was a standout feature.
2004-2008
This guy might have charged a bit more than your average trainer, but his classes sold like hotcakes! You could even check out pics and testimonials on his website's Training and Consultation section. He took his expertise Down Under and even got appointed as the official trainer for the restoration and maintenance of federal buildings with fancy floors. His first gig was at the House of Senate in Washington, DC, where they've got some seriously impressive marble and terrazzo floors dating back to 1903. He had great success with his tailored maintenance program and even did another round of training after his first success with the Architect of the Capitol staff.

The esteemed Maurizio Bertoli may have met an unfortunate fate in a tragic car accident, but his legacy lives on through MB Stone. Guided by the expert hand of Stu Rosen, a consummate professional in the field of stone care, MB Stone continues to flourish and uphold Maurizio's cherished vision. Stu Rosen is a seasoned veteran, having collaborated intimately with Maurizio for many years. Today, as the chief architect of MB's contracting operations, Stu oversees a thriving restoration company and spends much of his time in the field, perfecting his craft. Relying on a career of hard-won experience, Stu divulges the wisdom and trade secrets that made Maurizio Bertoli an internationally acclaimed stone care specialist. In 2010, Stu Rosen officially took the reins of MB Stone. The same year marks the debut of the legendary MB-20, as Cameron DeMille wowed audiences at a prestigious stone restoration trade show, igniting a viral sensation that continues to this day. 2012-2013
The ever-popular MB-22 polishing powder was first introduced to the world at MB Stone! This particular polishing compound was crafted for calcite-based stones and quickly took the stone industry by storm. It's now one of the most widely used polishing powders! Meanwhile, Denise Daniels also made her grand entry into MB Stone. Starting from scratch, she has risen through the ranks and now holds a key role in the team. Serving as the go-to advisor for stone restoration pros, she provides invaluable insights on machinery and equipment to tackle any job.
2016-2019
Ultra Resins took its grand leap onto the market. Along with it, came the big move of MB Stone's office, training facility, and warehouse from NJ to NC. While settling into their new space, they went ahead and kicked off extra training on new and improved Anti-Etch techniques. Gotta love MB Stone for their innovative ideas too. They unveiled the fantastic Stone ID Kit. It's a lifesaver for homeowners and professionals alike, making it a breeze to identify different types of stone. Now who said stone identification had to be complicated? Thanks to MB Stone, it's as easy as ABC!
2020-2023
As the years go by, MB Stone continues the company's growth and expands exciting new developments. The team needed more room to soar, so the office, training facility, and office were packed up, and planted into a larger facility just down the street still in the lovely town of Wilson, NC. Not only did we make this huge move, but our family got even bigger. MB Stone purchased Colorclad and Easy Stone Care as part of our growth journey. With Easy Stone Care now being part of MB Stone there was an amazing new member joining our team, Cameron DeMille, AKA the Stone Dude. Keeping the spirit of innovation alive, we introduce our newest additions: Infernos and Pyros product lines. MB Stone also earned a shiny new trophy! We were absolutely delighted to find out that our outstanding Stone ID Kit was crowned with the prestigious Best of Innovation Award at TISE!

Our Story
In the late 1950s, a determined 16-year-old named Maurizio Bertoli embarked on an unexpected journey into the world of marble craftsmanship. He found himself in Parma, Italy, at a marble fabrication facility, where he spent his summer days learning the art of working with marble.
From 1959 to 1962, Maurizio honed his skills as a marble floor setter, specializing in the intricate "grind-in-place" method. Despite his young age, he balanced his practical experience with academic pursuits, attending university in Parma. His commitment to both education and hands-on experience laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors.
In 1968, fate dealt a significant hand as the former owner of the marble flooring company Maurizio worked for passed away. Seizing the opportunity, Maurizio purchased the company, marking a turning point in his career. He transitioned from being an employee to becoming a dedicated business owner, driven by a passion for marble and a vision for excellence.
By 1969, Maurizio had completed his formal education, holding a degree in Accounting and Marketing. This blend of practical skills and academic knowledge positioned him well in the industry. However, he didn't stop there. He delved into private studies, immersing himself in Petrography and chemistry as applied to marble and natural stone. This commitment to understanding rocks and minerals on a deeper level enriched his expertise in the field.
His reputation as a skilled craftsman and entrepreneur extended beyond Italy's borders. From 1971 to 1973, he undertook ambitious marble flooring installations in Switzerland and southern France, showcasing his expanding skillset and credibility.
As the 1970s progressed, Maurizio's journey took an unexpected turn. In 1979, he made the decision to sell his Italian-based flooring company, paving the way for new business ventures. These ventures eventually led him to relocate to New Jersey with his family, opening up a new chapter in his life.
The late 1980s marked a pivotal moment in Maurizio's career. Collaborating with chemist Joe McEown, he co-founded MB Stone Care Products in 1989. Their partnership resulted in the creation of a line of specialty products designed for natural stone care. This venture gained traction, solidifying Maurizio's reputation as an innovator in the industry.
Maurizio's focus shifted in the mid-1990s as he emphasized stone restoration and maintenance education. He introduced training classes and revolutionary products, including the game-changing MB-12 polishing powder for marble. Tragedy struck in 2008 when Maurizio was involved in a devastating car accident, leaving a void in the industry. However, his legacy lived on through his collaborator Stu Rosen, who assumed leadership of MB Stone after Maurizio's passing. Under Rosen's guidance, the company continued to thrive, introducing new products and training initiatives.
In 2012, a remarkable product known as MB-22 polishing powder was introduced to the market, marking a pivotal moment in the industry. During this period, a fresh new face entered the scene, none other than Denise Daniels. Her arrival at MB Stone marked not only her debut but also a significant milestone for the company, as she would become well-known through the stone industry to restoration professionals and homeowners alike.
As the years rolled on, MB Stone's trajectory only gained momentum under the ownership of Stu Rosen. The years from 2016 to 2019 witnessed transformative changes. The launch of MB Stone’s Ultra Resins brought with it more than just a new product; it symbolized a shift in the industry. The company relocated its office, training facility, and warehouse from New Jersey to North Carolina. Amidst this transition, a commitment to education emerged stronger than ever. The introduction of Anti Etch technique training showcased their dedication to empowering their customers with knowledge. The unveiling of the Stone ID Kit was a testament to their innovative spirit, providing tools to identify and address stone-related challenges.
With a vision for expansion, MB Stone took a bold step in 2020 to secure a larger facility in Wilson, NC. This move was accompanied by strategic acquisitions, welcoming Colorclad and Easy Stone Care into the MB Stone family. The team grew not only in numbers but also in expertise, as Cameron DeMille joined their ranks. The Infernos and Pyros product lines marked their continued commitment to innovation, addressing industry needs with cutting-edge solutions.
