MB-40 Quartz Polishing Cream is a professional grade cream designed specifically to restore and enhance the high gloss finish of engineered quartz surfaces. It is widely used by stone fabricators to improve factory finishes by 20-30% and to remove surface haze or light wear.
Features:
- Works on Engineered Quartz but can also be used on granite, ophicalcites, and serpentines.
- Maintains Natural Finish
- Restores clarity, removes light scratches
For best results, use a variable speed polishing machine with a hogs hair or white polishing pad. Work in small sections, 2-4 square feet, to ensure a uniform finish and prevent the product from drying out too quickly.
Please note this product should be a cream or paste but, may arrive to you looking watery. Nothing is wrong with the product. It is recommended to add a small amount of water to this product, whether working on countertops or floors.
Preparation:
- Always make sure to mask off and protect surfaces that could be splattered by product.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves.
- Make sure the surface is free of any coatings, waxes, sealers, grease, and/or soil.
- If the surface requires honing, use quality diamonds and hone surface to at least 3000 grit or higher, predicated upon the clarity of the stone being worked on. The higher the finish before polishing, the better the product will work.
**Directions may vary depending on the quartz you are working on.
Directions:
Countertops:
- For best results use a 7 Inch style polisher (variable speed) with 5 or 7-inch pad driver and white polishing pad. Set speed to 600 RPM (#1 setting on most machines).
- Start by targeting a two square-foot area. Place 1 teaspoon of product in the center of the area then position your machine and white pad directly on top of it. Slowly, spread the product out, controlling the trigger, while applying pressure to dry the product out. When the product starts to dry, begin to increase the speed to approximately 1200 RPM (#3 on most machines) and decrease the pressure – at this point there should be no splatters. Pull the trigger for max speed and run the product dry while moving the machine swiftly over the target area. The use of pressure will vary depending on the quartz.
- Check the results and repeat if needed. If any swirls or marks appear it is because too much product was used. Remove the marks using a white pad with a mist of water, or if they become stubborn, use Easy Scrub by hand with a soft cloth. Adjust the amount of product you are using and continue. Each application will require slightly less product than the previous.
Floors:
- Target an area of approximately 8-10 square feet. Place 2 tablespoons of product in the center and mist with water – just enough to form a semi-thick slurry to avoid splatters.
- Place a floor machine with a hogs hair pad on top of the product and begin to spread it out over the target area. Work the product until the slurry dries out, and the quartz becomes shiny. At approximately every 200 square feet the pad should be loaded with product and will need to be flipped or changed. Use a floor machine that is over 1.5 HP and weighs 135 lbs for best results. When the product dries and begins to polish, a lighter machine may bog down and trip the electrical breaker.
